Narrative skills and storyboarding are taught alongside digital animation to bring students imaginations to life on screen. 

Anyone interested in moving image can attend this course. If you want to create stop frame animation, motion graphics, music video or exciting experimental films learning the Digital Animation course is designed for you. Students learn how to take a story from conception, refine the narrative, storyboard and make an animatic before producing finished short films. 

The principles of  animation are taught using traditional and digital methods. Students learn how to use still images, illustrations, model making and a wide range of other media and techniques to produce their finished films. Understanding AfterEffects, working with 2 and 3D layers and animating cameras and lights in the scene gives you to an opportunity to bring motion to your concepts.

 The skills acquired in this course allow for a wide range of applications across fine art, animation, motion graphics, visual effects and short filmmaking.

Fine Art

The Fine Art summer school is aimed at those who would like to explore their artistic techniques in the rich setting of London's art scene. This course is for those with some existing competency in painting and drawing who want to expand on their skills. If you would like a refresher for your skills you can take the additional one week Introduction to Figure Drawing course on the previous week.

Photography

The Photography summer school is aimed at those who would like to expand their knowledge of photography. We will focus on digital techniques but film can also be used. Applicants should have their own SLR or DSLR camera. If you don't feel confident with a camera before joining the summer school you can take the additional one week Condensed Photography course on the previous week.

Each week will feature three days of classroom based teaching and two days of suggested self study plans. 

Classroom days run from 10am to 4pm, usually at our Finsbury Park campus with one week at the world class Holborn Studios.

You will learn from experienced photography professionals and will have access to the world class Holborn Studios, a professional studio set up used by many famous photographers.
